UK cinema release

“He’s got experience, contacts and ideas aplenty, as well as being a pleasure to work with.”

The project

UK Cinema release of Home, a documentary charting the journey of Sarah Outen MBE around the world by rowboat, canoe and bicycle. The film also considers the toll on Sarah’s mental health and the impact of being caught in severe storm systems, as well as her physical travels.

The solution

A carefully-structured campaign over 2019 which included a UK impact and marketing campaign as part of the cinema release, a screening to UK cinema programmers, a series of Q&A events with Sarah on release, and submission to the BAFTAs.

The result

Home was released in autumn 2019 and screened at 46 UK cinemas by the time COVID-19 suspended its release.  The film grossed £18,000 at the UK box office, from largely single screening runs.

We worked with Jonny to release our feature doc ‘Home’ across UK cinemas. Being new to the process, I have found it so reassuring having Jonny steering it all and making it happen.

He’s got experience, contacts and ideas aplenty, as well as being a pleasure to work with.
