Festival support – short film project
“Jonny has great knowledge of the industry and made the process easy and fun! I would certainly recommend him to filmmakers who feel like they need some guidance with this”
Filmmaker Sally Cancello was looking for guidance for her short film Fargate, specifically around which festivals to submit it to and platforms to place it on.
A short and nimble research project to create a list of festivals to submit the film into, and advice on platforms and audience development opportunities.
Fargate was selected by Sheffield Shorts, Oxford International Short Film Festival, Ramsgate Film Festival, Romford Film Festival, Houston Comedy Festival, Chicago Women’s Film Festival, Harrogate Film Festival and The London Worldwide Comedy Short Film Festival! The film won Best Yorkshire Film at Sheffield, received an honourable mention at The London Worldwide Short Film Festival and was nominated for Best International Comedy at The Chicago Women’s Film Festival and Best Sound Design! It won the award for Best Short Film at the Los Angeles Comedy Film Festival.
I worked with Jonny on creating a list of festivals and online platforms that would be a good match for my short film.
I found this incredibly useful, as the film festival circuit is quite vast and daunting, especially for a first-time filmmaker.
Jonny has great knowledge of the industry and made the process easy and fun too! I would certainly recommend him to filmmakers who feel like they need some guidance with this.”
