Business strategy & fundraising support

“Jonny’s support has been crucial in our applications to large funding bids and making our first-ever business plan! He has helped refocus us and strengthen our cinema community.”

The project

The Electric Palace team were looking for support to help develop a new business plan for the organisation, looking at ways to develop audiences and sustainability. This review and new plan would underpin applications to the BFI’s Cultural Recovery Fund.

The solution

A full and comprehensive review of the organisation’s performance at box office, and a study of the local region and audience trends helped define a three-year plan for the Cinema. This work included new programming and operational policies for the Cinema.

The result

The Electric Palace Cinema has a new business plan in place, taking it to 2024. Its applications to the cultural Recovery Fund were successful and a revised programming policy and Friends scheme have been launched.

Working with Jonny has been fantastic.

During the pandemic our independent cinema entered very uncertain times. As well as working with us to generate new ideas, Jonny also used his expert eye to refocus on our existing strengths.

He has helped navigate us onto a realistic road map, leading us towards a positive future.

Jonny’s support has also been crucial in our applications to large funding bids and in making our first-ever business plan!

He has helped refocus us and strengthen our cinema community.
